  • This year will see the re-launching of the Catholic-Orthodox theological dialogue, which will face the delicate subject of the Primacy of the Roman Pontiff, apparently in relation to Eucharistic ecclesiology. Analysing the views of the dialogue partners on this matter, as they emerge from the most recent literature on the subject, the author highlights the divergences that remain - notwithstanding a certain progress towards convergence - in reference to the relationship between the local church and the universal Church, and their impact on the prospects for the fully common profession of faith that is the ultimate goal of the dialogue.
