Resumen de La biblioteca del novecentista

Alessandro Del Puppo

  • Pallucchini's library provides a complete documentation of his critical tools, thanks to the pressence of the most important monographs and series of publications that had characterized the 20th centuries art history studies. This heritage is also an important testimony of the formative years of Pallucchini.

In this paper, we study the library's entries, and the owner's annotations above them, during two crucial periods: the formative years of his University studies, and the postwar years. We can therefore highlight significant contradictions between the first formation, marked by sharp nationalistic interpretations, and the second period, when Pallucchini achieved wider information about European modern art, with the renewed instrumental tools of "pure visibility".
