The European Society of Culture was founded in 1950 in Venice. The purpose of the S.E.C. was to gather philosophers, writers, scholars and artists, whatever their origins and ideological convictions. Here the author recalls how it was founded as an independent institution sheltered and promoted by the Venetian Biennale, and the role Rodolfo Pallucchini played at the stage.
