By analysing the history of two Paduan university buildings -Liviano and Palazzo del Bo- from various points of view, structural, ornamental and critical, this essay focuses on the relationship between Rodolfo Pallucchini and Carlo Anti, the rector. The documentary sources of the Archivio Storico dell'Università enable the author to follow the events of the thirties and fourties, to evalue the friendly fellowship of the two figures and their celebratory volume, "Bo pittorico".
