  • This presentation of the first volume of Pope Benedict XVI's Jesus of Nazareth is offered with reference to the guiding principle assigned to this work by the Author himself, namely to consider Jesus in the perspective of His communion with the Father, which is the true centre of His life - so much so that apart from this communion nothing may be under-stood concerning Him, while approaching him in this perspective, i.e. that of His communion with the Father, makes Him present to us today too. Yhe book is presented in accordance with the way it is itself organised, dwelling on the logical-thematic connection between its introductory elements and its ten chapters, passing to a consideration of three central concerns: Jesus's communion with the Father, Jesus and today's world, and finally some questions and comments arising in the mind of this writer upon his reading of the book.
