    La renegada de Valladolid es un romance octosílabo que ha sido registrado en versiones orales muy raras en España y Portugal desde finales del siglo XIX hasta finales del siglo XX. Está relacionado con un pliego de cordel sobre el mismo tema, en quintillas, que conoció muchas ediciones entre el siglo XVI y el XIX. Y con otro pliego de cordel, en cuartetas, que fue muchas veces impresos entre el XIX y el XX. El artículo analiza las relaciones entre las tres ramas textuales. E interpreta el romance dentro del romancero en general y del romancero de cautivos en particular.

    La Renegada de Valladolid (The captive apostate of Valladolid) is a romance (a ballad) in octosyllabic verses that has been registered in very rare oral versions in Spain and Portugal from the end of the XIXth century until the end of the XXth century. It is related to a chapbook on the same topic, in five-line meter, which had many editions between the XVIth century and the XIXth. And with another chapbook, in four-lines meter, which was often published between the XIXth and the XXth. The article analyzes the relationship between those three textual branches. And it considers the romance inside the genre of romances (ballads) in general and of the genre of ballads of captivity more especifically.
