    Esta contribución intenta recuperar la versión crítica del concepto de �indus-tria cultural� frente a su empleo afirmativo o su rechazo precipitado. Esto se hace señalando primero lo que no es industria cultural y presentando las fal-sas alternativas. Después se analiza lo que es industria cultural y para ello se identifican los elementos centrales que la definen. Finalmente se desarrolla una adecuada actualización, que será presentada en el último apartado por medio de algunos ejemplos.

    This paper intends to recover the critical dimension of the concept of "cul-ture industry" against its affirmative use or its hasty rejection. In the first place the authors argue what culture industry is not, and they analyze the false alternative analysis to this concept. Afterwards they try to expose what is culture industry and which are its central features. Finally, the last section of the paper tries to update this concept by analyzing some actual examples.
