    En este artículo se estudia la edición y la lectura durante la Segunda República atendiendo a cuestiones teóricas, metodológicas y bibliográficas en el marco de la historia cultural del período y del proyecto oficial de cultura. Asimismo se analiza de manera particular la promoción de la lectura pública, las ferias del libro de Madrid y las ediciones que contribuyeron a la coalición electoral del Frente Popular.

    This article examines the publishing world and the reading during the Second Republic taking care of theoretical, methodological and bibliographic questions within the framework of the cultural history of the period and the official project of culture. Also analyzes in particular the promotion of the public reading, the Madrid book fairs and the issues that contributed to the electoral coalition called the Popular Front.
