The protein carbonyl derivatives in plasma and erythrocyte of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) were studied. There were 2 groups: 16 patients with COPD and 17 healthy persons as control subjects. There were statistically significant decreasing of protein carbonyl derivatives in plasma and erythrocytes of patients with COPD. For explaining the decline of carbonyl derivatives in blood of COPD patients the hypothesis was put forward
