    Los cambios que han sufrido las organizaciones en las últimas décadas ponen en jaque la función del Director de Recursos Humanos concebida de manera tradicional. Desde hace 20 años la función ha vivido profundas transformaciones producto de la evolución del contexto (globalización, internacionalización, cambios socio-demográficos y legales). Algunas voces alarmistas han llegado a pregonar que la función está destinada a desaparecer. En este contexto, cabe preguntarse: ¿Cuál será su destino? ¿Cuáles serán las responsabilidades del DRH en el futuro? El objetivo del presente artículo es establecer los roles prioritarios que desempeñará el Director de Recursos Humanos y, en consecuencia, los ejes estructurales de su desarrollo.

    Human Resources Director�s traditional role has been jeopardized by the changes that have taken place in organizations in the last decades. Over the last twenty years this role has undergone deep transformations stemming from context evolution � globalization, internationalization, socio-demographic and legal changes. Some alarmist voices have gone so far as to proclaim the role is doomed to disappear. With this background in mind, it may be worth asking: What will its fate be? What will the HRD responsibilities be in the future? The goal of the present paper is to set forth the main roles a HRD will perform and, therefore, the structural axis of its development.
