    La amiotrofia diabética, o síndrome de Bruns-Garland, es una entidad rara que se caracteriza por dolor intenso asociado a déficit motor proximal y atrofia muscular del miembro afectado. Con base en la clínica y el electrodiagnóstico, los autores presentan, con una breve revisión temática, un caso de un paciente que desconocía ser diabético y que presentó esta patología.

    Diabetic amyotrophy, also known as Bruns-Garland syndrome, is an uncommon condition in which patients develop several pain, proximal weakness and muscular atrophy of the affected limb. On the basis of clinical and electromyography findings, the authors present, with a brief thematic review, a case of diabetic amyotrophy in a patient whom he ignored to be diabetic.
