The Stadiasmus provinciae Lyciae, discovered in the early 90's is an exceptional document for more than one reason. M. Adak and S. Sahins' important publication has given us a state of the question. However, we would like to come back to one of the interesting aspects of the inscription : the representation of the Lycian space proposed by the Stadiasmus. Which understanding of the Lycian space has this document given us? With which principles and with which intellectual means is the Lycian space understood? The Stadiasmus studies are reopening the debate on the geographical documents available to the Roman administration

Le stadiasme de Patara, découvert au début des années 1990, est un document exceptionnel à plus d'un titre. L'importante publication de M. Adak et de S. Sahin a permis de faire le point sur ce dossier. Nous voudrions cependant revenir sur l'un des intérêts de l'inscription : la question de la représentation de l'espace lycien proposée par le stadiasme. Quelle compréhension du territoire lycien donne à voir ce document? Selon quels principes et avec quels moyens intellectuels l'espace lycien est-il restitué? Ainsi, l'étude du stadiasme relance le débat sur la nature des documents d'ordre géographique dont pouvait disposer l'administration romaine
