  • Resumen
    • We agree with Dr Desai and colleagues that more rigorous investigation into the effect of duty hours and how to optimize resident health, education, and patient safety in graduate medical education is needed. Because such research will require time and funding to complete, waiting for results of this work will not help current residents who continue to face conflicting messages and ethical dilemmas, such as leaving the hospital or lying about their hours.
