In their recent Viewpoint, Dr Arora and colleagues1 described the values of physicians trained prior to the era of duty-hour restrictions as �nostalgic professionalism�2 and lamented the behaviors of present-day residents arising from the conflict between nostalgic professionalism and mandated regulation. The authors argued that �a new professionalism must be advanced.�
