El presente trabajo en primer lugar describe las distintas vertientes ubicadas en el valle de Azapa, las que fueron fundamentales en el desarrollo de las primeras prácticas agrícolas; en segundo lugar, se identifican restos de plantas, propias de estos ecosistemas húmedos, las que fueron utilizadas en la preparación de capas con las cuales construyeron sus cementerios. La información proporcionada por ambos recursos �hídricos y vegetales� es fundamental para conocer cómo se organizaron las poblaciones agrícolas tempranas en el valle de Azapa
One objective of this research is to describe the different sources of water located in the Azapa valley that were fundamental in the development of the fist farming practices. A second objective is to identify rests of plants belonging to these ecosystems, which were used in the preparation of material to build their cemeteries. The information given by both areas is essential to know how they organized their early farming territories in Azapa valley.
