  La incontinencia urinaria es un problema que sufre un 15,8% de la población. Es conocida su repercusión a nivel sanitario, social y económico, pero también tiene repercusión laboral. Con un impacto negativo notable sobre múltiples aspectos de la vida diaria, tanto en el entorno social (menor interacción social o mayor aislamiento), como en el físico, sexual, psicológico (pérdida de autoestima, depresión) y laboral (absentismo, menos relación). El efecto que la incontinencia urinaria provoca en la calidad de vida de quien la padece es igual, o más importante, que la sintomatología clínica de esta disfunción, habiendo sido durante mucho tiempo infravalorado el grado de molestia percibido por los pacientes que la sufren. El abordaje de este problema debe ser multifocal, y abarcar todos los ámbitos en que influye, entre los cuales destaca el ámbito laboral.

  Background: the urinary incontinence is a problem that suffers 15,8% of the population. The urinary incontinence repercussion is known also sanitary, social and economic context; but also in daily work it has profound effects in. It has a very negative impact on multiple aspects of the living, so much in the social environment (minor social interaction or major isolation), in the physical, in the sexual, in the psychological (loss of autoesteem, depression), and in the labor atmosphere (absenteeism, fewer relation with partners). The urinary incontinence effect in the quality of life is equal, or more importantly than the clinical symptomatology of this dysfunction for the person who suffers from urinary incontinence, and it has being underestimated for a long time the trouble valued by the patients with urinary incontinence. The way of boarding this problem must be multifocal, including all the areas which it has repercussion, emphasize the work enviroment.
