Resumen de Técnicas y recursos retóricos en la España defendida de Francisco de Quevedo

This article offers an analysis of the main rhetorical resources and techniques in España defendida by Francisco de Quevedo y Villegas. As a humanist, Quevedo aimed to show the extent of his assimilation of classical sources and their rhetorical tradition, and of sacred oratory. His oratorical skills are thus proven in a context of orality and of communicative transmission based on actio. Moreover, he succeeded in producing an important rhetorical work with which, with efficiency and erudition, he defended the Spanish nation against the invectives of foreign humanists.
