  • Resumen
    • The tendency towards introspection observed in the late work of Rubén Darío is manifested in his marked interest in dreams unveiled by his collection of essays El mundo de los sueños (1911-13) and his short story Cuento de Pascua (1911). This article examines the importance acquired by dreams in Rubén Darío's work as sources of transcendental knowledge based on introspection. Through a thorough analysis and contextualization of Cuento de Pascua in Darío's work, this essay interprets this short story as a deep reflection upon the correlation between dreams, literature and occult sciences as forms of transcendental knowledge. The formal experiments undertaken by Rubén Darío also show his will to reflect accurately the oneiric atmosphere in the text, thus vindicating literature's capacity as a medium to explore the mechanisms of consciousness
