Resumen de Poesía y verdad en los escritos de juventud de Jorge Luis Borges

Humberto Rafael Núñez Faraco

  • In the three collections of essays on literary criticism he published in the 1920s, Borges expressed his conviction about the inner truth of poetry. In his view, a poem worthy of the name should not consist of a mere display of technical dexterity, nor follow an arbitrary process of selection and combination. Rather, he perceives the poetic act as the affirmation of thought and feeling through the shaping force of the spirit. Thus, poetry becomes a testament of spiritual being in the full awareness of its existence.
