    En 2005, la Fundación INNOVAMAR, con apoyo del Ministerio de Industria, crea la Plataforma Tecnológica Marítima Española (PTME), que se configura como un mecanismo de transmisión de la I+D+I hacia el mercado, canalizando la generación de empleo de empresas innovadoras mediante proyectos y actuaciones. Constituye foros de encuentro, liderados por la industria, que integran a todos los agentes del sistema Ciencia-Tecnología-Empresa, capaces de definir la visión a corto, medio y largo plazo �Visión 2020� y establecer las rutas estratégicas en I+D+I para el sector marítimo-Agenda Estratégica de Investigación

    The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourisme and the Ministry of Education and Science, through Fundación INNOVAMAR, promote and help in 2005 the creation of the Spanish Maritime Technology Platform, (SMTP). Is a forum where all stakeholders from the maritime sector define and share a common vision and a Strategic Research Agenda, driving the necessary innovation efforts forward. The Challenges 2020: a competitive maritime industry, safe, sustainable and efficient operations, adaptation of the demand, transversal areas.
