    Here we describe the dentary of a small anguine lizard, Ragesaurus n. gen., from the early Pleistocene of the Medas islands (Spain). Ragesaurus shares several morphological characters with the Anguini, but the new species differs from other extant and fossil Anguinae in: the special morphology of the antero-inferior alveolar foramen, closed by a septum; the narrowing of the Meckelian groove in the middle part of the specimen, where the dorsal and ventral margins of the Meckelian groove come close to one another and, to a lesser extent, the tooth morphology.

    Ragesaurus n.gen. est un petit Anguinae décrit à partir d'un dentaire presque complet complet provenant du gisement du Pléistocène inférieur des Iles Medas, Morphologiquement proche des Anguini, il diffère des représentants actuels et fossiles connus des Anguinae par la configuration particulière du foramen alvéolaire antéro-inférieur (limité antéroventralement par un septum osseaux) ; par la présence d'un canal de Meckel partiellement entouré par le dentaire et, dans une moindre mesure, par la morphologie des dents médianes.
