    Objetivo: La gripe 2009 A H1N1 ha rememorado el temor de la de 1918, llamada �La Dama Española�, causante de 50-100 millones de muertos.

    Aquí se describe su padecimiento por geniales artistas.

    Métodos y resultados. La investigación patobiográfica muestra diferentes circunstancias vitales. En Viena, fue evento final para Klimt (55) (hemiplejia), Moser (50) (cáncer mandibular) o Wagner (76) (malnutrición). A Schiele (35) y su mujer embarazada les produjo la muerte fulminante. En París, acabó con Rostand (50)-autor de Cyrano de Bergerac- y el dibujantepoeta, convaleciente de guerra, Apollinaire (38). En Portugal, murió el modernista De Souza-Cardozo (31). Sobrevivieron Munch, Georgia O´Keeffe y un joven Walt Disney (17). Castelao, escritor-dibujante gallego, retomó temporalmente la medicina ante la mortandad de sus colegas.

    Conclusiones. La Dama Española causó millones de muertes, incluidas las de algunos de los más importantes artistas contemporáneos.

    Objective: Influenza A 2009 H1N1 had renewed the fear of the 1918 flu, called popularly �The Spanish Lady�, with 50-100 million deaths. We describe the ailment in some greatest artists.

    Methods and results: Patobiographic research shows different circumstances. In Vienna, was the final event for Klimt (55) (hemiplegia), Moser (50) (jaw cancer) or Wagner (76) (malnutrition). Influenza killed fulminantly Schiele (35) and his pregnant wife. In Paris Rostand (50)-Cyrano de Bergerac´s author- and the poet-artist Apollinaire (38) were death. In Portugal died the modernist De Souza-Cardozo (31). Munch, Georgia O´Keeffe and a young Walt Disney (17) were survivors. Castelao, galician cartoonist and writer, temporarily resumed medicine due to his colleagues mortality.

    Conclusions: �Spanish Lady� caused millions of deaths, including some of the most important contemporary artists.
