    Suggestions about Estremoz ceramics production, presenting some historical references on the raw material used and its preparation. Clay figure, which appeared by the end of the 18th century, has contributed a lot to the popularity of this production. The course of clay figure is analysed since it emerged until nowadays Estremoz clay figures -the workshops and the clay artisans, the followers of the tradition, the techniques or ways of doing and the theme that they involve- are the guiding lines of this work.

    Sugestoes sobre a produçao cerâmica de Estremoz, apresentando-se algumas referências históricas sobre a matéria-prima e seu preparo. Para a popularidade desta produçao em muito contribuiu o figurado, cujo aparecimento remonta ao final do século XVIII. Analisa-se o percurso do figurado desde que surgiu até ao figurado que hoje se faz em Estremoz -as oficinas e os artesaos do barro, os seguidores da tradiçao, as técnicas ou modos de fazer e a temática que o envolve- sao as linhas orientadoras deste trabalho.
