  • Resumen
    • The Slovak judiciary and its current state has been one of the most dominant themes of political discourse in recent years. Although in the last decade the judiciary was guaranteed full independence and self-regulation by the 2001 amendment of the Constitution, it is confronted with the lowest public trust among public institutions and allegations of misuse of power, nepotism, corruption, and severe lack of transparency and accountability. This chronicle analyzes the current state of judicial affairs in Slovakia by reviewing the latest developments within the judiciary, its relations to the executive power and its perception by the general public and the media.
