    This paper seeks to historicize the contributions of the feminist movement regarding the emergence of the debate around the theme of violence established between couples in Brazil. To that end, it presents a flyover by the history of Brazilian feminism, in its various tendencies, including academic feminism, whose foundation gave rise to the first studies on the subject in the country

    Este texto pretende historicizar as contribuições do Movimento feminista no tocante à emergência do debate em torno da temática da violência estabelecida entre casais, no Brasil. Com esse intuito, apresenta um sobrevoo pela história do feminismo brasileiro, em suas várias tendências, incluindo o feminismo acadêmico, cujos fundamentos deram origem aos primeiros estudos a respeito do tema no país.
