    En el presente trabajo nos ocupamos de un fragmento recogido por el cronista melkita Ma.bub de Mabbug con el objeto de ofrecer datos que nos ayuden a localizar cuál fue la fuente utilizada por este. El fragmento en cuestión relata el enfrentamiento entre dos enviados a la corte de Mu�awiya, Sergio y Andrés, el primero de los cuales, enviado por el rebelde Shapohr acaba siendo castrado por Andrés, enviado por el emperador bizantino Constante II.

    e present paper deals with a fragment gathered by the Melkite chronicler Ma.bub of Mabbug with the aim of shedding light on the source he used. is fragment narrates the encountering between two messengers sent to the court of Mu�awiya, Sergius and Andrew. In the text the rst of both, who was sent by the rebel Shapohr, was castrated by Andrew, the messenger of the Byzantine emperor Constans II.
