    En Babilonia vivía un hombre llamado Joaquín, el cual estaba casado con una mujer muy hermosa y temerosa de Dios llamada Susana. Joaquín era un rico burgués y tenía una casa muy grande con un jardín. Como miembro respetable se su comunidad, muchos judíos se congregaban en su casa.

    Entre los judíos que visitaban la casa de Joaquín había dos viejos jueces. Cuando las visitas salían de la casa de Joaquín, su esposa, Susana, salía a pasear al jardín. Viéndola todos los días salir, los viejos empezaron a desearla. Al principio ninguno de los dos sabía de los deseos secretos del otro, hasta que un día cuando ambos se habían despedido ya se volvieron a encontrar cuando regresaban a la casa de Joaquín para espiar a Susana. Ambos confesaron sus deseos lujuriosos y se pusieron de acuerdo para buscar una ocasión para que ambos pudieran estar solos con la joven judía. Un día Susana salió al jardín como de costumbre sin sospechar que los viejos se habían escondido en su jardín para espiarla.

    Como el día era muy caluroso, Susana decidió darse un baño y envió a sus sirvientas a que le trajeran aceite y jabón y les ordenó que cerraran la puerta del jardín. Cuando las sirvientas salieron, los viejos salieron de su escondite y acosaron a la joven diciendo que si no se doblegaba a sus deseos lujuriosos ambos testificarían en contra de ella diciendo que había sido infiel a su marido con un joven. Susana se negó y los viejos la llevaron a juicio testificando en contra de ella como había dicho. Los viejos jueces la condenaron a ser lapidada. Mientras iba camino de su castigo, Susana le pidió ayuda a Dios.

    El joven Daniel los detuvo a todos diciendo que Susana era inocente. Después de hablar con los viejos, Daniel descubrió que estaban mintiendo y al final fueron ellos los condenados a muerte.

    In Babylonia lived a man named Joachim, who was married to a beautiful woman who was fearful of God called Susan. Joachim was a wealthy bourgeois and had a big house with a garden. As a respectable member of the community, many Jews congregated in his house. Among the Jews who visited the house of Joachim were two old judges. When visitors came to the house of Joachim, his wife, Susanna, went for a walk to the garden. Seeing her every day walking about, the two old men began to desire her. At first neither knew of the secret desires of the other, until one day when both left the house and then met again when they returned to the house of Joachim to spy on Susanna. Both confessed to their lustful desires and agreed to seek an opportunity for both of them to be alone with the young Jewish girl. One day Susanna went to the garden as usual, unaware that the old men had hidden in her garden to spy on her. As the day was very hot, Susanna decided to take a bath and sent her servants to bring her oil and soap and told them to shut the garden gate. When the servant left, the old men came out of hiding and harassed the girl saying that if she did not acquiesce to their lustful desires both will testify against her saying that she had been unfaithful to her husband with a young man. Susanna refused the old men and was put on trial where the two elders testified against her as t hey had said. The old judges sentenced her to be stoned. While on her way to her punishment, Susanna asked God for help. The young Daniel stopped them all saying that Susanna was innocent. After talking with the old men separately, Daniel discovered that they were lying. In the end it was they who were sentenced to death.
