    La escritora catalana y especialista en literatura infantil y juvenil responde lo más objetivamente posible al reto de las relaciones planteadas entre ilustración y minorías.

    Su artículo está presidido por tres elementos fundamentales:

    el concepto de minoría, el de minorizado y el concepto de lenguaje.

    Se muestra contraria a la concepción de muchos educadores que ven en la ilustración "una agradable dama de compañía que hace más llevadero y ameno el áspero carácter de su dueño y señor: el texto; y no le otorgan la categoría de lenguaje, con sus normas sintácticas ... no la consideran otra manera de narrar de igual rango".

    Señala que la ilustración no tiene un espacio o una presencia relevante dentro de las esferas canónicas del arte.

    Afirma que a través de la ilustración se establece una lúdica relación de igual a igual entre el emisor y el receptor, y como lo lúdico tiene menor prestigio que lo serio, esto influye en ser minorizada culturalmente.

    Teresa Durán finaliza su artículo con optimismo pues constata que la ilustración está abriendo muchas puertas, trazando nuevos caminos ...

    The Catalan writer and specialist in literature for children and teenagers addressed, in the most objective way possible, the challenge facing the relationships existing between illustration and minorities.

    Three basic elements prevail in her paper: the concept of minority, the concept of minorized and the concept of language.

    She comes out against the conception of many educators that see in the illustration "a nice lady who accompanies us and who makes the rough character of her lord and master more bearable and pleasant: the text; and it is not granted the category of language with its rules of syntax ... it is not considered to be another way of narrating that has an equal level." She points out that the illustration has no space or significant presence within the canonical spheres of the art. She asserts that through illustration a ludic relationship is established between equals, between the transmitter and the receiver, and as the ludic aspect has less prestige than the serious one, this influences being culturally minorized.

    Teresa Duran ends her article on a bright note, since she asserts that the illustration is opening many doors, plotting new routes, etc.
