    Resumen La profesión enfermera no consiste solamente en la realización de diferentes técnicas. Hay situaciones y momentos que te afectan y a los que no llegas jamás a acostumbrarte, no solo por su dureza sino por su carga emocional. Son situaciones en las que te crees incapaz de tomar parte, si no fuera por esa fuerza y afán de ayudar y cuidar al otro que te da la vocación enfermera. Fue esa fuerza de la que hablamos la que aquella mañana nos ayudó a todos a cumplir con nuestro deber de ayudar a ese hombre que llego estrepitosamente, con la cara destrozada por un disparo de escopeta al intentar quitarse la vida. "El hombre sin rostro" lo llamábamos por hacer broma entre nosotros y quitar un poco de hierro a la situación, situación un tanto difícil, intentando aliviar el sufrimiento de una persona a la que en su cara solo se reconocían sus ojos; unos ojos azules e intensos que suplican ayuda con horror y miedo, que miraban a todos y cada uno de nosotros intentando decir algo ya que eran su único medio de comunicarse, unos ojos que ninguno de los que estábamos allí ha podido olvidar.

    Abstract (The force of the nurse vocation) Nurse profession does not only consist In executing different skills. There are situations and moments that affect you and you will never get used to them, not just because of their harshness but their emotional charge. Situations in which you feel incapable of taking part if it weren't for that strength and eagerness that gives you the nurse vocation to help and care the people. It was that strength that we are talking about which that morning helped all of us doing our duty of helping that man who arrived with a crash, with his face totally wreck due to a gunshot of a suicide attempt. "The men without a face" we used to call him to joke among us and play down the importance of the situation. Such a difficult situation, trying to soothe the pain of a person in which face only his eyes were recognizable, a blue and intense eyes that begged help with horror and fear, that looked at each of us trying to say something because they were the only form of communicating. Eyes that none of the people who were there couldn't forget.
