Resumen de From Marx to market: Deciding the urban form of post-Soviet Tallinn, Estonia

Reiner Jaakson

  • The collapse of the Soviet Union has changed urban design in all of the newly independent states, which are now struggling to establish a new society and economy. This paper discusses the transition from the former Soviet socialist city to a new city being created by market forces. A case study of Tallinn, Estonia, is presented, where a decision-making matrix model was developed to assist in the formulation of policy for the future urban form of the city.
