Pensando a ética na perspectiva das formas simbólicas de Ernst Cassirer

    Este artigo visa a contribuir para a reflexão ética a partir da filosofia de Cassirer. Trata-se de analisar se a denominada �ampliação� que Cassirer realizou da epistemologia kantiana pode ser estendida à esfera moral. Ou seja, se há um paralelo entre o problema epistemológico e a moral em Kant, e se Cassirer explora o problema epistemológico por outra perspectiva e que consequências isso acarreta para o âmbito moral. Embora Cassirer, em sua produção intelectual, não tenha explorado sistematicamente a questão ética, os problemas com os quais se preocupou, no decorrer de sua produção filosófica, fornecem subsídios importantes para uma reflexão nesse sentido.

    Para Cassirer, o ser humano é um animal symbolicum, um ser que cria signos e símbolos e, dessa forma, constrói a realidade. Tal fato implica, para ele, a coexistência de diferentes formas de compreensão do mundo igualmente válidas, diferentes formas simbólicas, como ele denomina, por exemplo, o mito, a religião, a ciência. Pensar a ética na perspectiva da Filosofia das formas simbólicas implica considerar a coexistência de tais construções simbólicas, bem como a tolerância ante a consequente diversidade epistemológica e axiológica, destacando-se o fundamental papel da filosofia nesse processo.

    This article purposes contributing to the ethical reflection from Cassirer�s philosophy. It intends analyzing the called �extension� that Cassirer did from Kant�s epistemology and that may be included to the moral sphere.

    It means, if there is comparison between a Kant epistemology moral and, if Cassirer explores the same epistemological problem by another point of view, which consequences it could bring to the moral plane. Although Cassirer, in his intellectual production, has not explored that ethical case systematically, other problems coming through along the way in his philosophical production adding important subsidies in this sense. For Cassirer, the human being is an animal symbolicum, a being that makes signs and symbols and, thus, builds the reality. Such fact implies, for him, the coexistence of equality valid different ways of understanding the world, different symbolic forms, as he names, for instance, the myth, the religion, the science. Thinking of ethics under the perspective of Philosophy of symbolic forms means considering the existence of such symbolic constructions, as well as the tolerance towards the consequent epistemological and axiological diversity, highlighting the paramount role of philosophy in this process.
