Frente al eje revolucionario Murcia-Cartagena, de extracción burguesa se conforma en la Murcia cantonal un área extremadamente conservadora, nucleada en torno a la ciudad de Lorca, agraria, clerical, oligárquica y centralista, que será el aglutinador de la resistencia anticantoruil en la Región. Servirá también de freno a las ansias de expansión territorial de los cantonales, constatándose la casi nula presencia del federalismo intransigente y radical en la ciudad y pueblos de la comarca.

As opposed to the revolutionary axis Murcia-Cartagena, of bourgeois composition, an extremely conservative área is constituted in the cantonal Murcia, brought together around the farming, clerical, oligarchic and centralist town of Lorca, which will be the agglutinative element of the anti-cantonal resistance in the Region. It will also act as a restraint to the ambition for territorial expansión on the part of the cantonal group, proving the almost non-existent presence of the intolerant and radical federalism in the town and villages of the área.
