Resumen de Salmonelosis en niños (II): tratamiento y evolución.

  Se revisan retrospectivamente las historias clínicas de 185 pacientes pediátricos con infección salmonelósica, con objeto de estudiar su evolución relación con el tratamiento empleado y deducir criterios de actuación terapéutica. Cursaron como gastroenterocolitis 139 casos, de los cuales 91 no recibieron tratamiento antibiótico y 48 sí. Se observaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas a favor de los casos no tratados respecto al tiempo medio de hospitalización, negativización del coprocultivo y aparición de complicaciones. Todos los casos de fiebre tifo-paratífica fueron tratados con antibióticos, no encontrándose diferencias significativas a favor de ningún antibiótico en la evolución clínica. Los datos obtenidos se comparan con los de la literatura. Se elabora, de acuerdo con los resultados, una pauta de actuación terapéutica.

  The clinical records of 185 cases of Salmonellosis have been reviewed retrospectively, in order to study a relation between the evolution and the treatment given, so as to be able to determine the therapeutic criteria. 139 cases showed as gastroenteritis, 48 of which received antibiotic treatment and 91 did not. Statistic differences were observed in favour of the non treated cases where, the average time of hospitalization, the negative copro-cultive and the onset of complications were more favourable. All the cases with Tipho-Paratific fever were treated with antibiotics without finding any significant differences in the clinical evolution not withstanding the antibiotic used. The data here obtained is compared with that previously reported. According to the results a treatment planning is suggested
