The new bridge over The Cadiz bay has a total length of 3.082 m and crosses from the city of Cadiz to Puertorreal. The main bridge is a cable stayed deck with 540 m of main span and 200 m of approach span. The vertical clearance for navigational purposes is 70 m. The bridge is under construction. Different construction techniques are being employed. They have been adapted to the different bridge typologies, and locations over the sea or over the land. The cable stayed main bridge is being built by free cantilever system with segments 20 m long. The approach viaduct over the see is being built by segments incrementally launched from Cadiz side. The approach viaduct on Puertorreal side is being built by span by span construction with a centering. The simply supported 150 m main span will be lifted from both piers with a barge.
