La transición del conductismo al cognitivismo

    Esta lenta y progresiva transición supuso una transformación e implicó un cambio general que marcó una inflexión en el ámbito de la psicología. La utilización de sistemas de procesamiento computacional de representaciones se planteó como una alternativa ante las insuficiencias teóricas y epistemológicas del conductismo. Aunque se recuperó el objeto de estudio de la primera psicología científica, su caracterización y la forma de abordar el estudio de los fenómenos mentales era muy diferente ya que se trataban con un programa metodológico y unos instrumentos distintos a los de la psicología wundtiana y más cercanos a los de los conductistas, aunque variaran sus formas de aplicación, las técnicas e instrumentos y el campo de aplicación. Si consideramos el conductismo como una revolución esencialmente metodológica, podemos sostener que, en buena medida, lo más genuino de esta corriente se mantuvo en la psicología cognitiva, por lo que podemos afirmar que entre ambos enfoques existen ciertos rasgos de continuidad.

    This slow and progressive transition meant a transformation and a general change that mark an inflection in the field of the psychology. The use of computational processing systems of representations was suggested as an alternative in view of the theoretical and epistemological inadequacies of the behaviorism. Although the object of study of the first scientific psychology was recover, its characterization and the way of studying the mental phenomenon was very different because they were treated with a methodological program and some different instruments to those of the wundtian psychology and closer to the ones of the behaviorism, though their application forms, the techniques and instruments, and the application field were changing. If we consider the behaviorism to be an essentially methodological revolution, we can state that, to a large extent, the most genuine of this current was kept on the cognitive psychology, this is why we can confirm that between both approaches exist some continuity characteristics.
