The average value of soil losses obtained according to the methods of Fournier and the U.S.L.E (Universal Soil Losses Ecuation) for the studied area was of 40 t/ha/year. However the application of both methods on the level of the subbasins showed very high deviations. These were so much bigger as bigger was the average height of the different subbasins. Both methods offered a close correlation (r=0.9) of values in subbasins of an average height between 450 and 800 m
