  • This article discusses eight poems of biblical influence written by Catalan poet Josep Carner published in 1957 in Verb. These poems, together with Nabí, his most extensive poem, were inspired by different episodes and characters of the Old Testament. This essay pays special attention to the influence of the Old Testament in Carner's work as well as his use of other biblical sources by carrying out a formal, stylistic, and critical analysis of the poems
