Resumen de Fulguritas: observaciones sobre el rayo petrificado

El término �observaciones� del título expresa el tratamiento multidisciplinar dado al tema. La primera parte está dedicada a las características generales de las fulguritas:
definiciones, historia, génesis, morfologías, mineralogía�. La somera descripción de cinco fulguritas de referencia ocupa la segunda parte del artículo. Se esbozan, en la tercera, aplicaciones de los estudios de las fulguritas, destacando su utilización para paleoclimatología. Por último, se describen y comentan las propuestas didácticas y los intentos de modelizar y fabricar fulguritas llevados a cabo en el IES Politècnic de Palma de Mallorca.

The term �observations� in the title reflects the multidisciplinary treatment that has been given to the subject. The first part is related to the general characteristics of fulgurites: definitions, history, genesis, morphology, mineralogy.... A brief description of five reference fulgurites appears in the second part of the article. The applications of the studies of fulgurites are outlined in the third part, highlighting their use for paleoclimatology. And last but not least, we describe and discuss the didactic proposals and attempts to model and manufacture fulgurites conducted at the IES Politècnic of Palma de Mallorca.
