Detrital platform sedimentation during the Devonian times took place in the homogeneous basin of the Iberian Pyrite Belt. This shallow basin changed to a mosaic of horsts and grabens just in the Devonian-Carboniferous boundary. Thick mattrix supported conglomerates (mega-debris flow) appear related with this dynamic. They suggest convulsive seismic events related to the Breton phase of the Hercynian orogeny
