  • On the basis of ammonite biostratigraphy the precise characterization of the Upper Bajocian (Niortense p.p. and Carantiana p.p. Zones) has been recognized in the Peninsula de Alcudia (Coll Baix) for the first time. It is assumed that this area belonged to the Sierras de Levante Domain during the studied interval. The obtained data allows to interprete the existence of bottom instabilities (slumping) in the area during the Upper Bajocian
