• New structural and paleontological data prove that the rocks ofthe Sierra Albarrana area are of Lower Paleozoic age. Sierra Albarrana Quartzites probably correlates with the Lower Ordovician Quartzite of the Central Iberian Zone. Consequently, main tectonometamorphic processes in the region are of Hercynian age
