  • Resumen
    • The Iberian Massif shows the existence of four tectonostratigraphic terranes of Precambrian age which have been accreted in two different orogenic periods and sealed by overstepping successions which have been masked by intense deformation thereafter. These terranes are called Serie Negra, Fuente de Cantos, Malcocinado and Alcudian. The three first ones were docked during the Cadomian Orogeny and covered by a Lower Cambrian to Tremadocian overstepping succession. Shortly after, the Alcudian terrane and two more were docked in the so-called Sardic Orogeny. Both units were then covered by a Lower Ordovician to Emsian overstepping succession. Later, a separation in two plates took place with creation of the Santiago Terrane, which was again accreted to the former together with some oceanic fragments
