  A atividade da supervisão escolar no contexto educacional reveste-se de importância à medida que o supervisor exerce a função de fomentar o processo de ensino-aprendizagem, buscando maneiras de agir junto aos professores no sentido de evidenciar possíveis falhas em tal processo e buscar, junto do corpo docente, soluções, alternativas para tais problemas. A supervisão atua em todas as modalidades de ensino, dentre elas o EJA � Educação de Jovens e Adultos, ação iniciada por Paulo Freire com vistas a proporcionar àqueles que não tiveram oportunidade de estudar na modalidade regular uma nova chance de realizar seus estudos e, consequentemente inserir-se no mundo letrado, no mundo do trabalho. Sabe-se que a educação de jovens e adultos difere do ensino regular, motivo pelo qual necessários se fazem métodos e estratégias específicos para tal finalidade, e, nessa senda, se insere a figura do supervisor, como aquele que incentivará o professor na busca de conhecimentos, no estudo, na pesquisa a fim de melhorar a qualidade do ensino e facilitar o processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Com base nessas considerações o presente estudo dedicou-se a analisar a função do supervisor na educação de jovens e adultos, o que foi feito por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica.

  The activity of the school supervision in the educational context is important whenever the supervisor becomes responsible for providing support to the teaching-learning process, trying different forms of working with teachers in order to emphasize possible faults in this process and seeking, with the teachers, solutions or alternatives to such problems. The supervision works in all forms of education, among them the Adult and Youth Education, an action initiated by Paulo Freire in order to provide a new chance to continue studying for those who had no opportunity to study in regular mode, and, therefore, have a chance to get into the literary and laboral world. We know that the Adult and Youth Education differs from regular education, so we need special methods and strategies for this specific purpose, and, in this way, the action of the supervisor, as the professional who will encourage the teacher to search knowledge, to study more, and to dedicate to the research in order to improve the quality of teaching and to facilitate the teaching-learning process. Based on these considerations, this study is devoted to examining the function of the supervisor in the Adult and Youth Education, which has been done through a bibliographical review.
