Petrographic and geochemical characterization' of the rocks underlying the Neoproterozoic-Cambrian angular unconformity in the eastern flank of tHe Narcea Antiform, provide an insight on the processes involvedin the widespread rubefaction present along this contacto The data provide evidence of superposed events related to the sub-aerial weathering during the Precambria-Cambrian boundary and a further alteration caused, probably by fluid circulation during the Variscan Orogeny.
