Los alfabetos visuales en la memoria artificial: De "Ordo Locorum" a "Memoria Verborum"

    La relación entre el proceso de escritura y el arte de la memoria tiene su origen en las obras retóricas de Cicerón, Quintiliano y del autor de la Retórica a Herennio. A partir de esta primera analogía se comienza a dotar a esta arte de todos aquellos elementos y herramientas utilizados para la escritura, de ahí que también se crearan alfabetos visuales que emularan en la mnemotecnia a los alfabetos tradicionales. Ahora bien, el uso de los abecedarios en el arte de la memoria no se restringirá a la escritura en imágenes, sino que tendrá una importante aplicación para el ordo locorum.

    The connection between the writing process and the art of memory owes its origin to the rhetorical works of Cicero, Quintilian and the author of Rhetoric Herennius. From this first analogy, this art is gradually provided with all the elements and tools used for writing, hence the creation of visual alphabets emulating traditional alphabets in mnemonics. However, alphabets� use for the art of memory will not be restricted to writing in images, but it will have an important application for the ordo locorum.
