    La ciencia de la motricidad humana data de épocas muy recientes, sin embargo su existencia puede remontarse a un buen número de refl exiones previas que la historia del pensamiento ha ido acumulando a lo largo de su transitar. Desde el mismo Manuel Sérgio, se habla de un corte epistemológico, de una ruptura en los modos de conocimiento previo, una especie de inconmensurabilidad entre el nuevo paradigma (la Motricidad Humana) y el paradigma anterior (la Educación Física); y la reacomodación por parte de la CMH y sus intereses teóricos y a su búsqueda por consolidarse como ciencia madura.
