The amphibo/e-plagioclase geothermometer has been applied to three representative samples of the Acebuches amphibo/ites (Aracena massif). The results imply the existence of high temperature (900-7500C) ductile shear affecting part of this massif. The therma/ evolution is compatible with the tectonic models in which a high temperature slab cooled and was highly deformed at the same time
