This contribution deals with a rich burial of the Majkop culture from the Kurgan (H 4.0 m; diam. 40 m) by si. MaaKar'inskaja, Stavropol' area, Northern Caucasus. The burial chamber with rests of a red·coloured wall painting was pacoxpaHl1nL1Cb tion on his right side with the head oriented to the eas south-east. with rests of ochre n his skull and the extremities. The rich grave inventory consisted of four typical Majkop vessels, filnt arrowheads, a knife, a bronze adz and a stone screptre. The metal axe corresponding in form to the well-known Majkop axes is worth mentionings. Judging fron the grave contuction and the burial custom, this primary burial belongs to the valiant Dolinskoe of the majokop-Novosvododnaja cultures and is date to the 4º-3º millennium BC. Parts of the wooden bean construstion covering the bucal chamber were analyses inthe dendrochonological laboratory of the DAI. The obtained 14C date is 3360 and 3405 cal. BC.
