Resumen de Geomagnetische Prospektion neolithischer und kupferzeitlicher Siedlungen in Rumänien

Carsten Mischka

  • In the summer of 2007, geomagnetic prospections were conducted on the Romanian sites of Miercurea-Sibiului "Petri~", Miercurea·Sibiului "Pustia/lunca", Turda~ "lunea", Taga "Statia de Gaz Valea Tista!jului", Poduri "Dealul Ghindaru", Scanteia "Dealul Podeiti" and Ruginoasa "Dealul Draghici". These are particulary multi-Iayersettelments from assorted neolithic and copper-age perl' ods. The maio objective was to gain more information of the settelments' spatial organisation and the surroundings. The results of the geomagoetics are expected to allow the extrapolation of the results of small-scale excavations to the whole settlement area. On six sites, earthwork endosures where detected. Traces of the housing·structures showed very good io Poduri, Scanteia and Turda~, and combined whith the results of the excavation they are also visible at the Petri? site. There, and in Rugionasa also, the frequent pheanomen of a settlement reaching out far over its enclosures is visible as well. The campaign's results show the value of geophysical prospectioos even 00 multi-Iayer·sites, especcialy according to questions for size and the intensity of settlement, which are indespeosable today.
