    Hasta el siglo XX, las mujeres con título universitario hemos monopolizado y orientado los debates feministas, de ellos han surgido muchas conquistas pero también muchos errores. Por ejemplo, se ha silenciado las voces de las mujeres más excluidas de los procesos de toma de decisión relevantes. Mujeres que se unen siendo de diferentes etnias, bagajes culturales, niveles académicos, edades y experiencias de vida y que se autodenominan �las otras mujeres�. Su participación en los movimientos sociales de barrio ha favorecido que se transformase su contexto a través de la incorporación de sus reivindicaciones.

    Ante esto, muchos barrios han sido los escenarios en los que se ha forjado el movimiento de las �otras mujeres�. Este movimiento contribuye al avance en las políticas de género y a la mejora de los servicios destinados a la mujer en distintos ámbitos territoriales. En este artículo ejemplificamos primero brevemente cómo �las otras mujeres� se han organizado en diferentes momentos de la historia a pesar de su impuesto silencio y, segundo, explicamos acciones concretas actuales de las �otras mujeres� que han generado la transformación de su entorno y que aportan elementos clave al debate teórico internacional

    Up to the 20th century, women with university degrees have monopolised and guided the feminist debates, from those many conquests have rose but also many errors. For example, the voices of the most excluded women have been silenced in the important decisionmaking processes. Women that come together being from different ethnic groups, cultural backgrounds, academic levels, ages and live experiences and that call themselves �the other women�.

    Their participation in the social movements of the neighbourhood has favoured the transformation of their context through the incorporation of their claims.

    Then, many neighbourhoods have become the scenario in which the movement of �the other women� has been forged. This movement contributes to the advancement of gender policies and improvements in the services addressed to women in the different territorial domains. In this article, first we briefly present how �the other women� have been organised in different moments of history and, second, we explain current specific actions of �the other women� that have generated the transformation of their environment and that they contribute with key elements to the international theoretical debate.
